MESSI WISHES NEYMAR GOOD LUCK AT PSG AS €222M MOVE NEARS

The Brazilian attacker said goodbye to his team-mates as he left to finalise his move to the French side, prompting a public farewell from his friend
Lionel Messi has wished Neymar good luck in his new adventure as his Barcelona colleague closes in on a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar's proposed €222 million switch to the French capital swiftly gathered pace on Wednesday as he was granted permission to miss training and tie up his future.
The Brazil star informed the Barcelona board and his team-mates of his intention to leave and Messi, who lined up in the all-conquering "MSN" forward line alongside Neymar and Luis Suarez, paid tribute to his colleague in an Instagram post.
"It was a great pleasure to have shared all these years with you, friend," Messi posted alongside a photo montage of the pair.
"I wish you a lot of luck in this new stage of your life. See you, I love you a lot."
Messi signed a new contract at Barcelona last month, reportedly worth €565,000 per week, tying him to Camp Nou until 2021.

GRIEZMANN FAVOURITE TO REPLACE NEYMAR

Antoine Griezmann Atletico Madrid La Liga
Barcelona will look to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann as a replacement for PSG-bound Neymar, according to SPORT.
The report claims the Blaugrana are resigned to losing Neymar and have drawn up a shortlist of possible replacements, including Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele and PSG's Angel Di Maria.
But Barca reportedly prefer Griezmann as he is already used to Spanish football, but they would need to negotiate with Atletico as they cannot afford the Frenchman's €200m release clause.

Neymar not travelling to Qatar for medical, but PSG remain confident of transfer

The Brazilian superstar will travel from China back to Spain, and will not be stopping in Qatar to complete a medical on the way back
Barcelona star Neymar will not have a medical in Qatar with Paris Saint-Germain, though the French side remain confident of landing their man.
Instead, the 25-year-old will leave Shanghai, where he was on a promotional tour, and report back to Barcelona to resume training on Wednesday.
Neymar has been heavily tipped for a record-shattering €222 million move from Barcelona to the French capital in recent weeks, though the Catalans are still doing everything in their power to convince the Brazilian to stay.
PSG, meanwhile, are still feeling very good about their chances of landing the Brazil superstar, sources tell Goal.
The French side are, however, being very careful to not make any kind of premature movements, with the deal not yet over the line.
If they do land Neymar PSG are considering a presentation in front of their fans at the Parc des Princes, in a style similar to Spanish clubs.

MAN UTD HOPE TO COMPLETE MORATA DEAL

Manchester United are aiming to complete the signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata before they travel to the United States on Sunday, reports the Manchester Evening News .
Morata is Jose Mourinho’s primary target to fill the No.9 role at United this summer following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
A £60 million fee has been mooted for Morata and United hope to get the deal done before they head off to America to start their pre-season tour.

AC Milan's summer spending spree set to break €200m mark

Having already signed the likes of Andre Silva, the Rossoneri are also set to snap up Hakan Calhanoglu, Lucas Biglia, Andrea Conti and Nikola Kalinic

STATS
Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux's takeover of AC Milan may have been a painfully protracted affair but the club's new owners have wasted little time in investing in new players, with their summer spending spree set to pass the €200 million mark by the end of the week.
When the Chinese consortium finally acquired a 99.93 per cent stake in the seven-time champions of Europe in April, new chairman Yonghong Li promised to restore the San Siro side to their former glory.
"We've completed a key stop on the road to revival and for the future we promise that step-by-step, we'll lead this legendary team back to the summit of world football," he declared.

Although Vincenzo Montella's exciting young side finished a creditable sixth in Serie A last season, thus securing a return to European competition for the first time in three years, it was clear that the first team was in need of investment.
Encouragingly for Milan fans, the club's new Chinese owners are fulfilling their promise to overhaul the playing squad.
Just three days into July, an impressive €109 million has already been spent on new talent, with Portugal striker Andre Silva the most exciting - and expensive - arrival at €40m.
However, big things are also expected of Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie, who has arrived in Milan on a two-year loan deal from Atalanta but with an obligation to buy, after a break-out season in Bergamo in which he drew comparisons to compatriot Yaya Toure.
At €18m, the signing of Mateo Musacchio looks a gamble but it could pay off spectacularly if the Argentine centre-half is well and truly over his injury issues, while Switzerland international Ricardo Rodriguez, who was acquired at the same price, could well be the solution to Milan's long-standing left-back problem.
The €5m deal for forward Fabio Borini has been greeted with indifference among the Rossoneri faithful, given his dismal strike rate in English football, but greater excitement surrounds the imminent arrival of Bayer Leverkusen's set-piece specialist Hakan Calhanoglu, whose €25m signing will see Milan's spending climb to €134m.

Goal machine Lacazette can be £46m man to solve Arsenal's striking problem

The 26-year-old arrives at Emirates Stadium for a huge fee but will relish the pressure and could be Arsenal's star man next season

Arsenal have finally got their man. Alexandre Lacazette will arrive in London this week to sign a five-year deal with the Gunners following his big money move from Lyon.
It’s a transfer which manager Arsene Wenger has pursued for three years and after initially baulking at the £60 million price slapped on the 26-year-old by Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas, the Arsenal manager has succeeded in negotiating a rather impressive deal in getting Lacazette for a fee in the region of £46m
Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema are all world class forwards Wenger has attempted to sign over the years and while Lacazette may not yet be in the same bracket as those players, he possesses enough star quality to become the club’s record signing, eclipsing the £42.5m fee paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013. And he could be the man to solve Arsenal's striker problem with Alexis Sanchez yet to commit his future to the club.
The mammoth fee will heap pressure on Lacazette to perform, but he can take faith in his impressive goalscoring record for Lyon. Having spent his entire career at the French giants, Lacazette began his career as a winger before shifting to a central role in similar fashion to Gunners legend Thierry Henry. He ended the 2014-15 season as Ligue 1 Player of the Year following a campaign where he scored 27 goals in 33 appearances but rejected moves to various sides in Europe - including Arsenal.
Lacazette has played in every age group for the French national team and revealed that advice from Henry in the summer of 2013 helped influence him to become a better striker. Wenger passed up on the opportunity of signing the Lyon man last summer after Olivier Giroud was selected in France’s Euro 2016 squad ahead of him. But while the two are now competing for a striking spot at Arsenal there remains the possibility that Giroud will look to leave the north London club for a team where he’s guaranteed to be the main striker.

When asked in 2015 if Arsenal could one day sign Lacazette, Arsenal legend Robert Pires told Goal: “Why not? His characteristics and style of play will suit Arsenal.

"Although he doesn’t have a big posture, he’s quick, can dribble, and has great skill. He also scores many goals. Perhaps he will be an Arsenal 'best buy' in the future.”

The signing could also be good news for Mesut Ozil. With one year remaining on his current contract it is crucial that the German international sparks into form next season and replicates his performances of two seasons ago where he became the Premier League's assist king. If Ozil can provide the passes that he has become renowned around the world for, then Lacazette will undoubtedly be there to oblige with his cool finishing.
"He is very active, he can play both sides, technically he is very gifted and he has been scoring 25, 30 goals for the last four years in the French league so he is a proven goalscorer," former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre told talkSPORT recently.
"In terms of adaptability to Arsenal's style, he has all the qualities. He is very intelligent, he can make up the play with [Mesut] Ozil, with [Aaron] Ramsey, with [Danny] Welbeck.
"I think he would be a great addition for Arsenal. And he speaks French!"

Loyalty is a rare trait among footballers nowadays. Their careers are short and many understandably end up playing for whoever offers them the biggest pay cheque, but Lacazette’s decision to finally depart his hometown club for London is the right one. He is entering into the best years of his career and scored 28 goals last season at a rate of one goal every 86 minutes. He has 113 goals in the last four seasons alone.
Wenger may be concerned by the back injuries that have troubled Lacazette in recent years and his weaknesses on the pitch are mostly related to his lack of aerial presence. He is strong, can hold off defenders and possesses enough pace to beat most opposition players in the final third. The high quality of shots converted shows that he could be the man to take Arsenal to the next level, although it is vital that they still keep hold of Alexis going into next season.
Arsenal’s summer arrivals have so far been secured before the start of pre-season. Sead Kolasinac is a left-back who was named in the Bundesliga team of the season and Lacazette is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in France. They may be unproven in the Premier League but both additions are a sign that Arsenal and Wenger mean business going into the new Premier League season — and they could be blessed with a squad which their domestic rivals will be envious of.

Torino braced for 'flood of money' interest from Man Utd and Co in Belotti could bring

The Serie A side remain reluctant to part with their star striker this summer but are aware that any deal would bring vast sums of money into the club

Torino are aware that any deal for Manchester United and Chelsea target Andrea Belotti would bring “a flood of money” into the club.
The Serie A outfit are, however, still hoping that they can negotiate the summer transfer window without parting with their star striker.
Interest in the 23-year-old has been building on the back of his 28-goal haul in 2016-17, with Premier League heavyweights reported to be leading the chase.

Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is aware of the interest and acknowledges that the presence of a €100 million release clause means that his side will be handsomely compensated if a deal is done – even if it will be difficult to find a suitable replacement.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Will he stay? I hope so and so does [President Urbano] Cairo who isn’t thinking of selling him.
“Then there’s the €100m release clause. If someone pays it then a flood of money will arrive, but then we’d have to change the way we play.

“It’s not just about replacing Belotti, it’s worse than that. It’s hard to find someone else who pulls their teammates forward and scores 26 goals.
“What I always say to him – and what I told [Christian] Vieri – is don’t lose your head; sacrifice, keep improving, don’t lose than hunger that made you the player you’ve been recently.”
Cairo has suggested in the past that even if a big-money offer were to be made this summer, then Belotti may opt to shun the interest and stay put.
He told Radio 24 in June: “He has a contract with Toro until 2021. I would only sell him for €100m, but even then he can refuse.
"The most important thing is what he wants, regardless of the release clause, and I believe he wants to stay.
