Barcelona have confirmed highly-rated 19-year-old Carles Alena has signed a new contract.
The Spain Under-19s captain is one of Barca's most promising talents, having risen through their youth system.
The midfielder attracted interest from the Premier League this summer, with Tottenham said to be preparing an offer for him.
However, Alena has committed his future to the Catalan side, signing a new deal which includes a €75 million release clause if he makes the first team.
"Barcelona and Carles Alena have reached a contract agreement that will see the youngster sign on for the next three years," a statement read.
"If Alena joins the first team then the deal will be extended by a further two years, and his release clause will reach €75m."
Alena has already featured four times for the Barca senior squad, making substitute appearances in La Liga against Granada, Sevilla and Osasuna, while he also started and scored in a Copa del Rey clash against Hercules.
He played 23 league games for Barca B as they went on to win the league title.
